Barb Besgrove-Spence

Transport nurse clinician

If you ask Barb Besgrove-Spence to name the coolest job on earth, she wouldn't hesitate to tell you that she experiences it every day. As a transport nurse clinician, she is a part of an extremely important team of 35 individuals who provide care to kids before they reach Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. On a daily basis she jumps on an airplane, in a helicopter or aboard an ambulance and rushes to help children in need to safely take them to Children’s Hospital.

She has been working for Children's Hospital for nearly 15 years now, and since day one, she has known that she would never find anything more rewarding than providing care to kids. To her, there is no better calling in life.

Over time Barb has watched Children's Hospital evolve and loves being a part of the growth.

"I know that with every new room comes an increased ability to care for the children in our communities," says Barb. "We are all dedicated to ensuring that no child ever will be turned away. Growing allows us to stick to this promise."
