Dave’s experience with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is not unlike many others. When his children were young, they were treated at the hospital, but not for life-threatening illnesses. Dave formed a deeper connection with the hospital almost 30 years ago when he served as treasurer of the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc.). “Back then the hospital was located on the corner of 17th and Wisconsin. I was touring the cancer wing when I saw something I knew I would never forget. It was right before Christmas and there was a young girl sitting on her mother’s lap, bald from chemotherapy treatments. Even with all that little girl had to deal with, you could see she was still excited and couldn’t wait to celebrate the holiday. Those moments of hope are what make Children’s Hospital a very special place.” Since that day, Dave has worked tirelessly to support the hospital and now is a member of the hospital’s board and co-chair of the “More than you can imagine” fundraising campaign. He continues to encourage all business leaders in the community to become involved with the hospital. “There are tons of organizations we can give money to, but when you combine the capabilities, the professionals and the results, why wouldn’t you choose Children’s Hospital?”
