Dave Lentz

Construction worker, The Boldt Company

You don't have to be a doctor or nurse to be a part of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Just ask Dave Lentz, who is helping build the new addition along with hundreds of other construction workers who work for The Boldt Company.

Not only is Dave an important part of the expansion, he also is a father of two kids who have been helped by Children's Hospital. His daughter, Karly, had tubes put in her ears when she was only 2 weeks old. It was the first time Children's Hospital had put tubes in child so small, so it needed to be done while she was still awake and without medication. The procedure was done smoothly without a single complication. She is now 15 and is ready to learn how to drive.

Dave's son, Zach, had to have surgery at Children's Hospital when he was 5. After complaining of stomach pain, a trip to Children's revealed he had a hernia. The doctors were able to treat it with a simple outpatient procedure that caused minimal scarring.

To Dave, the work he does on the Children's Hospital expansion is a labor of love. He knows the work he has done will someday play a role in helping children get better. To him, no building is more important than the one he is building today.
