Ed's first involvement with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin was years ago when his daughter, Katie, had a rare blood disease. The quick diagnosis combined with the care and love his daughter was treated with made Ed realize that Children's Hospital touches just about everyone in the community. It was this realization that drew Ed closer to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. He has been involved in various aspects of the hospital – serving as a board member and leading fundraising campaings – ever since.
Ed's family was touched again by Children's Hospital when his grandson was admitted to Children's Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit just two days after his birth. Again, the treatment at Children's Hospital resulted in a successful outcome. It's not only his personal experiences that have kept Ed involved with the hospital, but also the importance of caring for children throughout the community. Because Children's Hospital touches nearly everyone in the community, Ed is passionate about giving back to this valuable resource.
